Welcome!

It is my goal to make sure all new clients feel both comfortable and prepared for their self care session with me. Here is some important information to give you a piece of mind for your appointment:

Waxing Pre/post care:

Is there anything I should do to prepare for my wax appointment?

~Exfoliation:

I recommend gently exfoliating your skin at least 24 hours before your appointment. Exfoliating with a safe scrub or mitt helps remove dead skin, helping us to reach maximum smoothness.

~Softening the hairs:

Apply aloe vera or a safe oil to the area you are getting waxed on a daily basis to keep the skin and hair soft. Also, taking a warm shower an hour before your wax helps soften the hairs for easier removal.

~Proper hair growth:

To ensure the hair is long enough to be removed fully from the root, allow for at least 3-4 weeks of growth before a wax on the following areas:

-Brazilian

-Legs

-Arms

-Butt

-Stomach

-Inner thighs

-Chest

-Back

These areas are a bit easier to wax, but should still have at least 2 weeks of hair growth before removal:

-Underarms

-Lip

-Brows

-Chin

-Nose

-Sideburns

-Cheeks

-Hairline

~Hydration:

Drinking plenty of water before your wax helps to keep your skin and hair from becoming dry and brittle. Dehydration can cause more discomfort, bottoms up!

~Pain Tolerance:

If you are nervous about the pain, pop an Advil 30 minutes before your appointment. Make sure your doctor is okay with it first:)

~Positive Mindset:

~Make sure to get yourself in the right mindset before your wax. Start with even breathing and positive mantras, this can help ease your nerves and pain. Going in with a negative mindset will make it far more discomforting. You got this!

~Things to avoid before your wax:

-Shaving between waxes

-Caffiene

-Spray tan

-Sun exposure/sunburn

-Harsh exfoliation (EX: peels, bleaching, rough scrubbing)

-Numbing creams

Is there anything I should do after my wax?

~Things to avoid after the first 24 hours:

-Sun exposure/sunburn

-Spray tans

-Sweating (from exercise)

-Excessive touching or intimacy

-Exfoliation

-Hot shower

-Swimming in a pool, lake, or beach

-Tight clothing

~Aftercare:

To maximize the results of your waxing experience, it is important that you exfoliate every 2-3 days with a scrub, mitt, or toner pads. It is important to remember that every time you exfoliate, you must follow up with some hydration--whether that is aloe vera, or an ingrown oil, or both! I have plenty of affordable Bushbalm aftercare products for purchasing, feel free to ask for recommendations based on your skin/concerns.

Facial Pre/post care:

Is there anything I should do to prepare for my facial appointment?

~Clean slate:

Please try to arrive makeup free, this gives us more time to clean impurities and oil rather than having to tackle layers of makeup beforehand.

~Exfoliation:

Avoid exfoliating with active skincare ingredients for at least 48 hours before your facial to avoid over sensitivity.

~Hydration:

Stay hydrated, drink plenty of water the week prior to your appointment.

~Hands off:

Refrain from picking any breakouts and causing unnecessary inflammation.

~Hydration:

-Keep hydrated! Drink a glass of water- Facials stimulate circulation and lymphatic drainage, which can slightly dehydrate the skin. Drinking water helps to rehydrate from within, supports detoxification, and keeps your skin plump and glowing. We want you looking like a grape, not a raisin!

~Clean Pillowcase:

Change your pillowcase weekly. Your skin is extra clean and more receptive after a facial. Old pillowcases can hold bacteria, oil, dust, pet dander, and product residue that may transfer back onto your face, potentially causing breakouts/irritation.

~Clean screens:

Sanitise your phone screen! Phone screens carry a high amount of bacteria from constant handling. Pressing it against freshly treated skin, or touching your face with your fingers that were touching your screen can clog pores and introduce germs, undoing the benefits of your facial.

~Avoid the following for optimal results:

-Touching and picking

-Sun exposure

-Makeup

-Exercise/sweating

-Active skincare ingredients

Brow Lamination/tint Pre/post care:

Is there anything I should do to prepare for my Brow Lamination/Tint?
